Hi,
i have recently bought ec300 2007 and this bike is awesome.
I am more and more confused as i read posts about jetting. Everyone seems to have needle that he likes and i dont know what do i need to start with.
I ride at sea level, 20-33C at summer (~68-90F).
Currently its n1ef #1 178 main 40 pilot 1 1/2 turns out. Head squish 1.6mm at outside and 2.7 at inside cylinder. Fmf powercore 2 exhaust and messico pipe.
Thanks

What carb?
AS1 = round screw on carb cap
AS2 = rectangle ish carb cap held on by 2 x screws.
Then you have to tell us what size the carb is if its an AS2 either 36 or 38mm.

And its very important, because they both jet very differently to achieve the same performance, and both have different float heights. Which is the first piece of the puzzle. Also, if you don't mind checking what number slide you have, and if it has a notch cut into the bottom or not.

Carb is AS1 38mm, #7 slide without notch cut.

I also plan to ride in winter -5-20C. Do i need another needle for that or just main and pilot jets will do?

What float height should i make for my carb?

Hmm I can't help you out too much there as all my Gasser related jetting experience is using AS2 carb.

From memory most run the as1 float height at 16mm.

I'd get rid of the N1 needle and go to a JD blue needle or a G/H diameter needle of your choice (N3EG/H or NECG/H) as those carbs seem to like a richer needle diameter.
In terms of jets read up on the jetting database and see if you can find a close match.
