Smile EC300 vs 300EXC questions

Hello all,

I keep seeing vids/reviews saying the GasGas EC300 is heavy?

I may have lost the plot, but every spec site I hit has 2012 - 2014 models
KTM at about 102 - 104 kg dry
Gasgas at about 103 - 104kg dry

Am I missing something here?

The trusted, reliable, faithful, much loved 2005 450 FSE is getting harder to throw around as age increases.
Any comments on the ride on EC300 as a replacement would be much appreciated.

Typical = fast open dirt tracks, rocky fire tracks, sticky shitty clay, min single track, some sand, usually play with a flock of DRZ400E's which i still want to keep in the rear view mirror preferably!

Look forward to your comments
cheers

I had a '15 GG 250.

It did weigh 274lbs. You can't feel the weight when riding.
I never really had any trouble throwing it around. It was heavy to pick up after a long ride.

The '18 on the other hand, is super easy to throw around.

The newer ones ('17-'18) are much lighter.

I?ve ridden both 2013 & 2018 EC300?s.

The weight & feel of the bikes are night and day different. You won?t notice any power deficit of power with the 300 but you will have to adjust your riding style a little.

The 2018?s are fantastic machines, but like every bike, need a little set up time.

Except suspension - unbelievably good out of the box.
