Default Wiring help with GasGas EC300

Hey guys,

Recently purchased a 2001 GasGas EC300. She's in an off-road state, i.e. all switch gear, lights all disconnected...

The bike runs fine, although i have no idea what state the loom is in, none of the dash lights work, neither does the horn of headlamp.

Ive been trying to connect up everything properly to test the circuits, but am having trouble identifying wires. Attached some pics, maybe someone is familiar with the EC?

Any idea what the wires are in the pics? and where they go?

Thanks

EDIT.. green,brown,black,black would be indicators.
yellow,orange,black. tail,brake light.
that little plug would be brake switch/pedal.
next pic
green,brown,black,black indicators
the two dirty plugs horn
yellow.brown,blue,white would be high+low beam+parker
now im just taking a stab at it but i think thats what they are.
use a multi meter or test light to work out left right indicator and high low beam
if you dont have any use a globe to test.
hope this helps.

OLD.IT, im in your debt, i've got a good tidy base to start from now. Really appreciate the input!

I had another go this morning, but still have a few queries.

1st pic:
I've tidied up the wires, and separated the indicators and tail brake light wires.
The thing thats getting me, is the white connector (you said brake light switch), i cannot figure out where this connects to, i can't find a free, matching connector.

2nd pic:
Ive found this little box thing that is sitting in the recess up by the yokes. It appears to be broken in that the mount has snapped. What is this, and will the damage affect anything?

3rd pic:
This is a random stab in the dark, but i found this black wire just hanging. Any ideas as to what this should lead to?

4th pic:
As with the tail, i have tidied up the wires, separating the indicators, high and low, beam and park. There is one more wire that i am unsure of, do you know what this is?

5th pic:
Any ideas as to which bulb is which indicator light? i.e. hi beam, left ind. right ind. etc....?

Thanks

Tom

tell them your having issues and that you cant get info anywhere.

I knew I had this printed out somewhere...
found it this morning, all ruined with moisture so I need to reprint it.
Hope it helps.

And that gizmo up by the steering head - there's a screw hole there to mount it. Try to make a new mount that grounds it really well. Then check the ground with a meter if you can. <edit> My 2001 unit has a black ground wire that goes under the screw mount, but something nags at me to ground the body of the component also.

Good luck!

Thanks for the input guys.

Those diagrams look handy, esp. identifying the wire colors...

Ill give it a go with these at hand and see how i get on.

Gonna have to start at the generator as there appears to be no life up on the dash when shes running.
