Default 2012 Headlight

My headlight was blown when I bought the bike and I finally received my replacement today. Looking at the wires I see where it should connect but the light doesn't come on when I turn the key on. The brake light comes on fine.

Also the bulb has 3 tabs and the connector has 3 tabs. One tab in the connector goes to a white wire, one to a yellow wire. The third tab has no wire attached, thoughts? I'm not very electrical savvy and figured I would ask before I go blowing things up. Here are some pics for reference, I assume the second connector is for the high beam but I don't have a high beam switch on the bike. Maybe I have the euro headlight or something?

Thanks for the help!

I think you have only on / off switch in your bike. Att least euro bikes have two opitional light wiring. One has black on/off switch and just that two wires connector and the other that "rolling switch" including high/low beam/off.

The missing 3rd wire is for high beam.

You need a switch to close the circuit for the lights to work. I think that yellow and white wires went to the light switch. I am in the process of figuring out the wiring on my bike for lights so I will know for sure by next week (waiting on a couple components yet).

Did the US bike come with a switch or does my harness look modified? Should there be a 3rd wire? Anyone with the same bike mind taking a look at their's? And where does that 2nd wire connect to from the headlight.....

The switch was removed from mine before I bought, but it did have one. I hear they break pretty easily. Also I don't think that 3rd wire is installed on US models. Mine doesn't have it either, I just know from studying the wiring diagram that is what it was for.
