SM ing With MY 36t Rear Sprocket.
Just a short note re. the first 100 miles I put on my 450FSE with the DRZ sm rear wheel and a 36t sprocket. So far, I have not received any feedback re. the use of a 14t front on the FSE other than the one I posted previously. When I get a chance, I'll get one and give it a try.
Right now, I'd like to comment on my 100 mile experience with the 36 rear and 13 front. The tire was a 150-50-17 Conti-Force. My first impression was that it wasn't very much different than my DRZ sm with the stock 41 rear and the optional 16 front. My riding was not on a track but on some very winding hilly county roads. 1 st gear 8 mph at idle.. winds out to 35 5 th gear cruises nicely at 50 mph winds out to 85 easily. 6th gear cruises very nicely at 75 mph. Could cruise at 80 if I wanted to. My overall impression, was the bike was much more usable and faster in the 40 to 75 mph range because I found myself using 2nd and 3rd. Gears I hadn't been used to using with the previous gearing set up. Tony |
