Hi JAD, it's been a while. Now I've seen the drawing you posted, I'm pretty sure that the shim/washer you arrowed was missing.
So I guess I have just replaced what should have been there in the first place! Anyway it removed the excessive play and eliminated the horrible rattle. All the best, Dave.
