Wiring dual sport kit on ec300

I have a 2003 ec300 im trying to get street legal. I have a baja designs dual sport kit for my old xr400. If the connectors dont fit which im sure they dont can i cut them off and just splice the wires together? Or if i buy some different generic dual sport bits can they be spliced and work? Also if i need to add some wire what is the best wire to use for tbis particular application?

Im sorry i dont much about the electrical side of things. I can read a schematic but thats the extent of my knowledge.

Also do i need to add a battery or will the lights work well enough to pass inspection with the stock electrical equipment. I know the euro models are road legal, what do they have that the us models dont. Thanks!
