Default Anyone ride an EC200 on the street?

Hey,

Just wondering if anyone has a street titled EC200? I looked up the requirements here in IL. They are pretty basic horn, headlight, taillight, mirror.... I would like to be able to ride the bike to the trails. Just wondering how it works and what kit is good to convert it.

Thanks,
Sam

I have a my '05 EC300 set up street legal and take hooligan ride about once a month. It not a dual sport bike. I would consider riding to the trails if they were within 5 miles of home. Otherwise, it goes on a trailer or in a truck.

same here, i have an 07 300, i too take a rogue ride to the gas station to warm it up about once a week. i rode once on the street with a bunch of friends(so the only other dirt bike wouldnt be alone) but once you reach top gear, you can just hear the reed pedals screaming for you to stop! itd be great on a go kart track with sticky tires though!!!!!

Would you say its not a dual sport because it has trouble maintaining high road speeds?

In order to have the bike work as best it can for me in the dirt, it makes riding it on the road a high reving affair. While 30 miles an hour feels fast off road, it's painfully slow on city streets. Having ridden dirt roads for 20 miles or more due to the slowness a the large group in Idaho, I'd rather have a an XR600 for dual sporting.

I have a street titled 200. Ok if the trails are near by. I use it to connect trails but it is not real fun on the road and people stare at you. Better to stick to something like a 4-stroke IMO.
