Spooge
Has anyone been able to eliminate the spooge coming out the tailpipe now I really wouldn?t care about the excess smoke and oil but I heard it can clog up your power valve
Thanks |

See the jetting threads. Spooge is about fueling. However if you ride singletrack there will always be some. My road racers had none.
PV is super easy to clean. Check drain tubes clear

The best you can do is to use a low flashpoint 2T oil and really dial in your jetting. IME that normally gets me to zero spooge or near enough. I don't worry about my powervalves. I just service them when I do a top end and all has been good.

I also recommend having the head cut to tighten up the squish band tolerance. This typically makes jetting easier and will promote more complete combustion.

Spooge is less about the oil and more about combustion.
2 strokes run oil in the petrol. No news there. If there is incomplete combustion then the unburnt gas exits the pipe. So if the jetting is fat then you can't avoid incomplete combustion. But wait! Part of what makes 2 strokes the ecological disaster they are, is that out of powerband, the awesome effect of the waves in the pipe are actually promoting extraction of gas out of the cylinder before the exhaust port closes and that is lost too. A big docile 300 is plodded along out of main power much of the time. (Also using the needle which is universally badly chosen N1EF so pay attention there). But if you were out on fast tracks, it would be in more efficient power all the time, or most at least. I do agree re head as the gas in squish area does not burn. But get the jetting right and you will reduce down to fairly minimal. Then practice your wheelies. Don't forget to cover the rear brake.

You're probably over doing the oil - you need to mix it carefully, its not like mixing a Margharita
