Its true! And don't forget to give the 2010 vs 2012 comparison. Power, handling, ergo, etc! Don't want to hear new bike bias either! Be honest.. Haha!

Well i have only racked up an hour of run in pace riding on the 12' ec300. Jakobi here is my 1st impressions of the 10 vs 12. The presentation i think is equal as i think the 10 is a nice looking ride in black and the 12 looks awesome also as they are very tidy. I dont like the rear brake pads on the 12 that have come with it as its raining here they will work fine one minute and nothing the next!! Im guessing its just the pads not getting along with the water? Im hoping its just the pads. The ride height on the 12 suits me a lot more as im 6ft1inches tall. I prefer the clutch on the 12 over the 10. The 12 seems to be heaps smoother in the vibration department. My 10 was breaking head mounts! The 12 does not have the head mounts!! it has the holes for them but they dont put the mount in, easy fix to the breaking problem is just take them off. Side by side in the shop i would look at them both as an equal win but in the saddle hands down the winner is the 12!! Not only because i have just forked out the cash to buy one but there is a range of differences that you dont notice until you put them side by side. More as i break it in. 1 tank should do it i reckon then open it up.pics when i get a chance.

And here I was thinking my 2010 was the biggest vibrator out there.. all along you've been breaking head mounts! I wonder if I could get away without running them on my 2010 and what difference it would make vibe wise.

Nice report so far Nat. Really looking forward to some pics and video and hearing how you get along with it. Maybe try bedding the brakes in a few times if you can get a sunny day. Sure its not locking up and just feeling like its not working?

We've had some serious rainfall up here this week. I can't even remember last time I had my bike out! I'm well overdue.

My 06 used to break the top mounts, found that the motor was not fitting snug in the frame and caused loads of vibes. Fitted some shims to make it all snug in the frame and reduced vibes and no more broken mounts.
Try putting a feeler gauge in-between the motor and the frame and the motor and swinging arm to see if there is any freeplay. Mine needed between 0.1 and 0.3mm to nip it all up tight without stressing the frame.

My 12 is the smoothest running 300 i've ridden. No vibes. I was worried about that while waiting for the bike, but it's no concern.
