Talking flywheel weights

question? my 06 300 was sold to me in canada as aDE model,is the flywheel different than on the EC?I was also told that one has a70 watt lighting and the other a 130 watt and you can tell by where the wire comes out of the cover.
any ideas?

If the wires exit at the 2 oclock position, its a heavy stator, called a 2K3, which makes more juice

thanx for the reply. Is the weight difference enough to affect the power characteristics of the 300

It supposed to be like adding a heavier flywheel, which I did to my lighter. Just as expected it smoothed the bike out but made it a bit slower to rev. Which do you want, the rip or the smoothness. I wouldn't mind switching to the more output/heavier if you are interested in a swap since I could loose the weight and get higher wattage to boot.

so which ignition do you have? My understanding was that the DE had the 2K2 lighter flywheel, lower wattage setup.
The XC models became DE models when the importer of that era went out of business (or stopped importing, whatever).
The differances between my XC and my kids EC is he has the heavier 2K3 ignition, reed spacer, GG pipe and Shivers (mine came with the FMF pipe and WP's). There is a noticeable differance between the two.

I think its like a box of Cracker Jacks, you never know what prize you get until you open it up! My son has an 03 EC with 2k2, my 06 DE has 2k2
