Default Balancer shaft - Timing

Been a while since i did my - now deceased GG.

Bloke at work has a 300 Quad and pulled it all apart.

How do you time the CB shaft? There's a punch mark on the gear but i can't remember where you align it if at all

Here is a picture of how IT IS NOT supposed to be timed.

The two dots on the mating gears need to be aligned.
Sorry the picture is a bit fuzzy. Dang auto focus.
