What year/size is your engine?

My '01 XC300 had similar symptoms you are describing, with oversensitivity to slight temp elevation changes. A #8 slide notably reduced the jetting sensitivity.

My '06 EC300 is happier with a #7 slide.

Both deliver nearly identical linear strong power. They torque great down low (credit RB-designs head mod), pull smooth through the range with a very strong pull on top to about 10k rpm (credit stock GG pipe and Doma pipe). The power delivery has not let me down in any situation.

Eric I'm running an 06 300.

Stay upright great reply!! that was an excellent description of 4t'ing. In fact my bike has been doing quite bit of 4t'ing (wet plug & spooge) until i went to the 42 pilot. 3 rides ago. still might 4t a bit but i'm working on dialing things a bit more. I'll get this sucker dialed yet!!
