cable
Its the 10-3000 . Ive got the same issue i had with the stock cable ,not enough cable outside the sheath. Theres no way to trim the t3 down like i did with the stocker. Do you have any slack? Is your cable controlling idle?

Trimming any cable sheath is a bad idea IMO, as you loose the protective ends, and can nick the cable. Can you say stuck throttle? Perhaps contact Motion Pro and give then the actual specs required, likely there is something that will work.

too much
yeah thought of doing that i'm just done for now.Its too bad cause it worked great for me. Now I have to set my carb,I had it set very rich for the cool weather and fresh top end .now its warming up and i have to change things around I was really looking forward to not doing that.....I never seem to get it just right so I try to make it a little rich and then leave it alone the rest of the year. lectron will probably end up on one of my other bikes. But I'm likely to change my mind by tomorrow....or not.......

I've got to admit that I wasn't thrilled to have to modify my stock cable to make it work, but it took me less than an hour to trim it and reroute it. Besides I had a new spare hanging on the wall, so I new I had a back up if I screwed up the original cable so I went for it. It's worked flawlessly for a few months now. I rerouted mine similar to trev's. I routed to the inside of the frame on the left side towards the front of where the tank sits in between the frame rails. That gave me enough play that I can turn the handlebars to the stops and still have a tad bit of play.
I still haven't tried the cable that I ordered from Lectron. I'm still happy with my purchase. It may not be the latest and greatest, but it solved the fitment problems that I had with the stock carb, and my bike runs better then ever also.

I'm very careful about routing cables as I have a damper. Been down that road with a bad stuck throttle crash on a KTM300 from a snagged cable. I will not route behind the bars. I always buy a longer cable and route safely in front behind the number plate. If need be I'd get a couple custom cables made or just run the Keihin and hit up Lectron to do it for you.
Whats the deal with these carbs, do they have a longer slide travel? |

Terry Cable makes very nice stuff (custom)

I destroyed a complete KTM front end from a cable jerk (literally). A custom has got to be cheaper.

Double that. I made sure I routed mine properly, but still wish I could tiewire at the carb end with the lectron. I used a motionpro gas gas replacement 2.5" longer and there is more than enough room and thats with a underbar damper setup. The cable came from the factory with not enough trimmed off to even work with the Keihin, so like ST I just trimmed some of the outer sheath back and then it was good to go.

I should clarify that my cable still runs in front of the bars and behind the number plate/headlight.

Motion pro also does custom cables. Not very expensive, either.
