Default What oil do you use?

Cant seem to find a forum on what oil guys run in there gas gas bikes. I have a 2008 EC 200 and usually run lucas oil in my transmission (10w-40) as well as their mix oil. The oil I run is pretty expensive. is it worth running the more expensive oil? what do you guys use?

For the last 12yrs in our eight 1998 to 2004 GG bikes we have run a 50/50 mix of ATF and T6 or Delo truck oil in the trans and it works perfect and it is cheap if you buy the big container of the truck oil. I think ATF is too thin

We run Klotz R50 if we are riding fast with lots of wide open areas and we rund Klotz Supertechniplate for general trail riding. I spoke with a Klotz engineer and he told me it was ok to mix the two Klotz oils/fuels which we regularly do since our riding changes from trip to trip.

My 98 been 10/40 Synth and been good. I've even used 5/40 cause thats what I run in my truck and what I had. Clutch grabs if starting in gear, no biggie, Shifts smooth and never slips. But maybe I'll try some ATF mixed in??

I've been running ATF Type F in my Kawasaki and Gasser bikes forever.

I tend to agree on the ATF being too thin. Was recommended to use it in my TXT but the gear changing just felt a bit notchy but clutch action was much better, now go with a 50/50 mix of oil and atf and it seems fine.

for my ec300 i always used Belray gearsaver oil and never had any clutch issues, even helped the 2010+ clutch squeal issue
