Default hello from gasgow

hi , i just thought i'd say hello .

i don't own a gas gas yet although i'm fairly sure i'm going to buy 1 next week

i currently ride a busa & a rocket , my rockets a 2012 & so far under warranty its had a new wiring loom & a new ecu due to them being corroded .

after my rocket got fixed i was told it would be fine in rain ......

a few months on i broke down while overtaking , it turned out to be dampness on a relay connection , that was the final straw for me !

someones coming to see it in a few days then its time for another bike

i've never owned a enduro but always wanted 1 , i was thinking about buying a honda cr 500 until a mechanic said you can't get quite a few parts anymore .
i've been reading online about loads of different enduro's & i've decided gas gas looks like the best .

i'm fairly sure i'm going to get a 2014 ec300r , it's def the best looking enduro on the market .

i plan on using it for a bit of offroad & general riding about everywhere , i'll prob buy another set of wheels & put road tyres on them .

Good for you Stuart! I just a new '14 XC300R myself.
I'm waiting to take delivery.

If you have a local dealer, all good and I like to support them when I can.

I bought mine from County Cycle in Wisconsin (I'm down here in Texas). Paul is awesome
to work with. I highly recommend him.

I just realized that you might be overseas (Scotland?).

While Paul is a great guy, I doubt he is shipping bikes to the UK. ;-)

Welcome Stuart (Great name by the way!!!)

I hope you get a new GasGas soon. Please post us some photos once you have it. And I would definitely get the Race version if you can. You will be very happy!!!

Take care

i'm in glasgow scotland , a guy has bought a plane ticket to come here on saturday to see & prob buy my rocket .

my local dealer is 120 miles away & shut on sundays & mondays , all being good i'll be heading to the dealers at 7 am tuesday morning in my truck with a pocket full of cash

with a bit of luck the dealer will chip in a few extras if i'm paying cash .

Welcome
I restored a 500, bits arnt that bad to find for 89 and newer, I think you would hate the bike as its a f@@ker to ride, vibrates alot. does make me smile tho.
A gas gas would be a better choise.its easier to ride and more forgiving. My 500 with a buggered clutch had me off the back in less than 30 seconds, ive been riding 20 odd years and the 500 is above my skill leval but me being me im not giving up easily lol

i got a ec300 racing on saturday night , i just got it insured this morning & had a shot of it for the 1st time .

i just rode the bike in to glasgow & back about 20 miles .

i never knew that my eyeballs could shake

the bikes nowhere near as refined as my busa but then it's a totally different bike .

i've never had a enduro before , 1st impressions are its great fun to ride .

the dealer said to take my time for the first 6 hours .

i've got black oil running out the back of the exhaust , is that normal ?

50:1 is fine that's what I've used since I've had the bike for 5 years now and I've only replaced a piston once due to a broken reed damaging it, but saying that it could do with a top end rebuild soon.
the info is good on here and there are plenty of places around the country to get bits, gas gas uk I would say is the best .
get your self some super moto wheels mate that rocks proper fun lol
