Default silencer tips

Is it imperative that the silemcer tip be riveted onto the core of the silencer? I have had a number of rivets fail (most likely poor installation at the shop?) on my FMF Power Core 2 Silencer over the last couple of months and was considering other mechanical fasteners. Any suggestions.
