Default Winterizing Tips?

I'm getting ready for a long winter. No moto in my life for the next 3 months or so. Any suggestions on winterizing my bike?

Step 1. Richen up your jetting.
Step 2. Get some studded tires.

Best winterization is to keep on riding!

I agree. And winter season is lazy season! Ride all day, then put bike in the garage for thawing.

NO MUD! NO WASHING!

Just lube it when it is dry.

And when your trail is rutted, like a monorail, add some plastic under your soles to smoothen them out, that'll make your boots work like skis. Cut out a piece oot of a bucket or smth, and use screws to attach it.

Just sit down and have your feet on the snow for support.
It is soo much fun. And you can go at unhealthy speeds in that single rut. I'll dig out some pics..

LOL ! So true. It's better than dirt when conditions are right. 100% traction. A frozen snowmobile trail is fantastic.

Are you looking at storing the bike for the winter?

If I was storing my bike for the winter. I would give the bike a super good cleaning, remove all plastic and airbox give it a good once over and slap it back together. I would drain the gas out of the tank and carb. Give it a good coat of WD-40 on chain and any bare metal spots to prevent rust. I would remove the airfilter, put in a clean un-oiled unit to keep oil from settling on the bottom. Then I would drain the p/v and clean. Remove the left side flywheel cover and make sure it is dry to help combat rust. Bleed any air out of the forks. Put it on a stand so both tires are off the ground. Throw on a cover and wait for the thaw.

Hope that helps...

The winter is our time to ride, I lay me bike up over the summer, due to heat and dust.
