Default uh oh

broke out the bike today and noticed i have a small fork leak. how complicated is it to change fork seals? 07 300

Before you tear into your forks, try cleaning the seals.

Slide the dust boot down. Then take a thin feeler gage (0.0015" or 0.002") and slide it under the fork seal and slide it around circumferentially to wipe out any dirt that may have been stuck under the seal.

This trick has worked many times on various fork seals for me.

You can do it with a piece of paper or dollar note, worked for my o7 300.

Film negative works best, as the square holes trap dirt and removes it.
BTW. Who has film negatives anymore?

youd be surprised lol. ive got thousands of negatives, and several negative slide show projectors and personal viewers (think kids 3d disc binocular things)

ill try those ideas.
i had a guy say to try 900 grit sand paper too that it smoothes out the edges that may have been damaged by grit, but with my epileptic hands (not really, im just shaky) id probably screw it up....

wow. wow wow wow wow wow.
i was putting the speedo sensor on today( my speedo came today) and i realized that the bottom seal, and the dust boot were all the way down the tube, by the axle. ive idden about an hour with it like this.boy do i feel dumb now, i didnt even notice when i posted this thread..

The snap ring that holds the seal in is missing.

Check the other side too.

the ring was still there, but i havent a clue how it came loose. it staying on fine now. other side is ok.
