you have to buy a trail tech....the pick up comes in the kit and a magnet goes into the brake rotor with a snap ring

"Do the EC's come with a speedo/odo? "

They do if you're in Canada or overseas, XC's do not have the speedo.

Bummer. I have a ICO that I can plug in but I have seen pics of the nice and pretty little GG computer/odo/speedo.

Any idea if one can purchase one from a dealer?

Or maybe one shows up on ebay once in a while?

The ICO is a much better product than the Trail Tech. If I would have to replace my Trail Tech I would seriously consider buying a Watchdog.

Not trying to hijack this train, but i'm getting close to buying a new 300 estart up here in canada eh. Can anyone tell me what the difference's are on the canadian bikes from xc to ec models? I've had an 01 and currently 04 ec 300's and i love these bikes. I'd like to stay with the tried and true ec300,but all i've heard about in estart is the xc so far.???????????

"XC" is the new standard model designation, replacing "EC", and from there you go e-start, Six Days, or Race.

Good to know, thanks.

I read that the GG is more suited to shorter folks. Is this true?

I am 6 1" and I stand 90% of the time (I also ride trials).

Any truth to the GG's being not-tall-person friendly?

I plan on putting on the GPR Damper which will raise the bars 1 1/4".

Any other tips to make it more comfy?

Thanks

J

Tall guys are generally happy with a tall seat foam and tall bars/risers/submount. Low boy pegs are also an option.

This site is growing fast lately, with a lot of new GG riders in addition to the old crew. Statisticly, there should be quite a few satisfied riders here over six feet tall.

I am 6'3" and have a 2011 300. Low pegs and tall bars make it fit great.

Go for it!
