Default Gas cap leak?

Out riding yesterday and i laid the bike down while i stepped off it . When i went to pick it back up, i noticed gas was leaking from the gas cap. I checked it was tight, then took it off and cleaned out round the tank and cap itself. When i refilled it at the halfway point, i noticed it was still coming out after a series of long, fast and deep whoops, where the bike was really bucking around.

Is there a known problem with this (as KTM have had with their 1/4 turn one) or is there a seal that can perish and may need replaced?

Thanks

Took a real good look today and found a tiny hole in the top (black part of the tank) right next to the gas cap. Anyone think it might be possible for a spot of plastic welding??

I bought some so say "Plastic fuel tank putty" today. Seemed right for the job, but i followed the instructions and the stuff just seems way to dry to get in the hole and seal.

The hole is about 1mm wide and 2mm long. Areldite is next on the list if this doesn;t work.
