Default Spooge?

How much spooge should I expect on my '11 XC 300?

Spooging is normal with the FMF Q.
Happens on KTMs that run them also.

We don't have any but we are running a race silencer.

Spooge happens. Two strokes just do it, especially if you ride around at low rpm. Remember, there is oil in the gas..

Probably the best way to combat spooge is to repack the silencer regularly and clean the inside of the expansion chamber.
Preventative measures would be to run an oil with a lower flashpoint. Usually the high dollar fancy oils have a high flashpoint that are great for high load, high rpm use, but are not necessary, or even desirable for most tail riding. I like Motul 710, but there are plenty of good options, usually at half the cost of the "good" oil.

Another note on spooge. Mix ratio has little to nothing to do with it. I run 28:1 with my current jetting because it seems like the magic combo. I experience very little spooge.

Roost has a good point. I'm running 50:1 and I have spooge even though I'm jetted pretty lean. I don't run my engine hard.

"Good" oil is "good" because it doesn't burn and hangs around.

Spooge lets you know that everything from the gas cap to the silencer is getting oil.

Run a drip string from your silencer to your chain. Automatic oiler.

Twist the go-grip Krieg - twist it!

I was actually following a really decent thread on TT on this topic, and it seems the proof is in the pudding - if you tear the bottom end down and everything has a nice lubricious coating, you've got the right amount of oil, no matter if or what your tailpipe drips.
