Default GasGas starting problem/ New member

Hello all GASGAS riders!!!

I had a lot of problems starting my GasGas 450 when it was cold.
So i started to read this forum, and i tried
the ignition turn off and wait for 15 seconds thing .. was the easiest thing
to test.. And halleluja!!!! Finally, the lovely bike just started !!!!
Have tested the procedure at several times, and it works ...
Don't remember who the writer was, but THANK YOU !!!!
I have even had the GasGas hooked up to the tractor battery to secure
the power.. The GasGas only have a girls battery
And even then it refused to start

So: Turn on ignition and hit the startbutton for short burst ,2-3 rotations!?
repeat no more than two times. If it don't start, turn off the ign. and wait for
those magic 15 seconds and start all over again...
This works for me every time i have tried so far....

And if this don't work i suggest the tractor thing. That battery is not
a girls battery.

Anyone adjusted the valves and notice some difference
with starting problems ????

Well i have to go out and look at the Swedish national holiday at
6th. of June.

Grundgas is the thing !!!! (old swedish truth)

Have a nice day all / Anders from Sweden

Where in sweden are you? I live in Timrå.

I have now gotten 30h on my '05 FSE450, it starts better and better.
Have you had any success kick starting the beast?

No problem kickstart the gasser when it's at working temperature,
but when cold.... No way !! I can't start it that way.
BUT, to make things a little more complicated, my friend's gasser
DON'T start with the electric starter when cold and starts just fine using the
kickstart device !!!! ?????

What if you use the 15sec. thing when kickstarting as well ???

I think it's wonderful to know that all gassers behave the same way =)
Almost forgot... I live in Orsa, NW of Dalarna...

Have a nice day all / Anders

When my '05 is started for the first time of the day it usually cranks for about 5 seconds then I let off of the starter for a couple of seconds and hit the button again and it always starts right away. When it's warm it starts right away and when I kick it, it's usually 1st,2nd or 3rd kick. I've read that when the temp drops below freezing that they are nearly impossible to start, I don't ride at those temps because there's snow on the ground, but one day I left it outside for several hours to see what would happen and it started faster than ever. I guess I'm just surprised to see these starting issues on here.
