I checked the parts fiche for a 2014 and it says:

HS1 12V35-35W

Yes the OEM bulb is not a H4, it just looks like one. But I guess a H4 would fit. However, H4 lamps are 60w or even more in some case and the GG generator wouldn't be able to drive it properly I think. I used a H4 bulb in my 06, but had to turn the light off when I used the heated grips.

But a LED in a H4 casing would be a good alternative. I haven't tried anything like that, as I use a bright helmet light during winter.

I am very sorry for the confusion! The older GG bikes used the bulb with the other base.
