Default LED Bulb for Stock Headlight

I was putting a headlight on a 2002 GG MC125. I wired up a new regulator/rectifier on the bike and I fired it up and promptly burned out the headlight bulb. I must have gotten a bad rectifier. We were leaving for a trip and I did not have another rectifier so I remembered that the new LED bulb I put in my 300 was rated for 80V AC or DC so I gave it a try. It worked perfectly all trip without a regulator/rectifier.

This bulb even on the low beam setting is much brighter than the stock incandescent bulb on high beam. For $12.5 it is a simple and cheap upgrade.

Interesting bulb. Did you ride a night? What was the beam pattern like?

Thanks for the info!! I just ordered one. My 06 just burned out a bulb. I'm excited to try the LED!

I did ride around the block with it and I thought it had a better spread than stock. With the added brightness it was more usable on the 35W lighting coil.

Thumbs up

Good info, thanks. I've got a '01 XC200 that needs one of those bulbs.

I was able to get them a little cheaper with a best offer when I bought two bulbs.

Changing the bulb socket looks to be one way.? I was wondering the same before I order.

Aren't the more recent bikes using H4?

Thanks. That H4 bulbs looks even better. The first one I bought only has one large LED bulb and it is mounted perpendicular to the main body so the light wouldn't be projected very well in the housing of the gas gas bike.
