Well I didn't make much progress today. I'm waiting on a local shop to fabricate a new steering stem lower dust seal washer because I forgot to order one when I bought everything for the rebuild. So i did what I could and installed the new races.

So the other day I picked up my steering stem from the machine shop, complete with a new bearing and the dust shield they fabricated. I packed the bearings with grease and started to put the front end back together.

You may notice that the wiring loom has been simplified, eliminating the rats nest that used to hang behind the headlight.

And the finished product(minus front brake and barkbusters). I'm really happy with the result. Fired up first kick once I had the right plug in it.

Nice and Shiny! I wish I had the patience/time/motivation to bring my old girl back to that spec. I still can't bring myself to bolt up the 2011 headlight and fender.. Doesn't do much for me.

I bought a compete low hour OEM clutch for $125, with the elusive 46mm ring gear
