So, I keep seeing conflicting info: 45 or 48 forks for EC300?

The 2010 and early 2011 US production bikes came with 48mm Sachs forks and shock. The next run of US spec bikes will be coming with 45mm Zokes and Ohlins 888 shocks.

The 45mm zoke has a history of being a fairly well set up fork from factory, and is also very simple in its design and construction, meaning its easy to tune.
I cant comment on the 48mm zoke that I keep seeing..?

As for the sachs v ohlins shock, the sachs shocks are a good shock, but ohlins has that bling factor, its always good to roll up to your mate and say wheres your ohlins?

Just asking because my txc 510 husky had 48's or 50's and they were sweet! Stuff that I would wince because I knew it was coming on the KTM the Husky just went right over, no-excitement or pain. When I first got the 300 KTM, my wrists would hurt from sunday-thursday and just get better in time to ride the weekend

So the current batch that have already arrived are sporting the sach's set up ???

The first twenty 2011 250s and twenty 300s had a Sachs shock and Sach 48mm fork. All of the bikes after the first 40 will have 45mm Marzocchi forks and an Ohlins 888 shock, except for the Race 300, 250 2T and 4T. They will have a 48mm Marzocchi fork. One other exception,,,the Nambo Replica will have an Ohlins TTX shock and Sachs 48mm outer tubes with TTX inserts.

You are correct.

Interestingly, I was talking with Alan Randt of Enduro Engineering and he is already working on suspension specs for the Sachs and Zoke forks. He already has the Sachs shock figured out.

He was saying that the 2 forks are very similar internally and that they should be very easy to make work really good for the faster riders.

LTR has them figured out as well. Zokes are great when dialed in and easy to do so, but stock is not bad. Both shocks are great as well. In a diffferent league than the KTMs I've ridden. I have time on a Husky TE450, and the stock valving is pretty good. A lot has to do with the weight and inertia though, as the 4stroke just plows through stuff. The GasGas will feel more active but have no bad habits.
