2002 Gas gas 200ec odometer

Can anyone tell me the correct batteries that go in the odometer of a 200 ec? I just recently purchased the bike and the odometer wasn't working. the previous owner told me it was the batteries. He actually had one there. however, when I removed the old batteries they were not the same as the one he had provided. I purchased two batteries the same as the ones I removed, but the odometer is still not working. The batteries I removed did seem to fit properly, a little to short. I'm wondering if the batteries are the right ones. Can anybody tell what the correct battery is?
