sprockets
About time to replace them. Currently on 2011 250EC is 13/52. Bike came with a new front 12 so better believe i plan to use it. thinking about 49 or 50 rear with the 12. tight woods SE riding. thoughts and suggestions?

I'm running 12/50 on my 200 and it's perfect for the terrain we ride - which sounds similar to what you're in. I give a little up when we head out to open ground (similar to desert riding), but it's not enough to make me want to change anything up.

I run 12/48 in the Tennessee hills on my 250 and it's perfect for me. 13/52 will give the same ratio. Some say the chain wears faster with a 12 cs sprocket and they are probably right but the difference is so small when you run steel rear sprockets that it doesn't change how often I replace my sprockets and chain. 12/48 does wear the chain slider noticeably faster while 13/52 will eat up the rear shock mud guard if you run trials tires or tall knobbies. 12/48 sprockets will extend your bikes wheelbase roughly 3/4 inch when compared to 13/52 sprockets running the same length chain. I like the slightly longer wheelbase because it lets me sit a little farther back on the seat.
