Default 2018 battery / wiring

Hi all have a 2018 gas gas ec300 guy I bought it off said under warranty few years ago it had a replacement starter motor ect from a 2019 model. The electric start rarely works so I took the seat up to find only a 50cca battery fitted. Can anyone tell me what battery?s fit I?ve seen some 200+cca ones can fit but don?t know what ones as no one left the model number.

also how do I know if the wiring upgrade from the battery and starter has been carried out by eye?

I have a 2021 TM 300 EN FI bike, and it comes with this battery:

BATTERIA ALIANT YLP09X 12V EQ. 8AH

You can get these in England pretty cheap:

https://www.roadraceperformanceshrop...attery-12v-8ah

It spins the TM over like crazy.

I am not sure if this had a battery management system built in (basically, a charge regulator), but you could call to find out more.

In the US, this battery costs $250 from TM. If this dies, i'd probably preplace it with a earth x: https://earthxbatteries.com/shop/etz5g.

This battery is about 1/2 the price of what TM charges.

My $0.02.

I have the AntiGravity in my '18.
I haven't charged the battery in 2 years. Works flawless.

Got a jump pack on the bike to find only 4v down the starter wire so will order a new relay as it just clicks and only passes 4v both 30a fused are ok.. Tried to remove the relay and touch the starter wire straight to battery it just sparks doesn?t turn the starter. Where is best going from here??

Just attached the jump back straight to starter and earth to starter bolt to find motor turns. What gauge wiring are people using and where abouts are they running the extra earth wire ?

I used some heavy gauge cable I had lying around but I ran the earth directly from the battery to the bolt that holds the starter on.

In EU, '18 came fitted with li ion battery, skyrich, made in china. Brand can also be bought as original spare part for KTM.

'19 model came fitted with larger capacity skyrich, model HJTZ7S-FPZ - 240A.

If in doubt, replace wires with 10mm2.

Also replace bendix cover with rieju unit with bearings.

While at it, weld bendix and gear as per that video.

If starter goes south, freely use KTM replica from aliexpress, reverse polarity.

Do all those mods, not just few. It is a best bet for longevity.

Always kick cold bike, and e start when hot. Manual says so too for a reason.

24V system, for my liking too much complication and not addressing primary issues, unless mods are carried out.

With all mods and correct battery, bike starts like crazy.
