Use standard. Premium got some horrible additive in it. If you need a higher octane mix it with race gas, but I doubt you need unless you are serious about racing. Standard gas burns cleaner.

Sorry - had to reply. Not sure about NZ but in Aust go for premium. Shell optimax or what ever it is called now does have additives and is not suitable for bikes don't use it - but regular premium, preferably 98 ron, is the go. fuels like mobil synergy, caltex vortex, BP ultimate etc

i find that the caltex 98 stuff goes good. i use it in my bike and race car(with an octane boost) and i cant tell the difference between that and avgas.

AV GAS i've always wondered how it would go on a motor bike ,we used to run our bull buggies on old chopper fuel as they would not use a drum opened the day before when we were mustering in the KIMBERLYS W.A.Those petrol tojo's would fly chasing wild bulls.

Definatley go with the premium. standard may cause it to ping. I used methyl benzine in my CR500 , gave it even bigger balls! premium unleaded is a much better quality fuel and will run better all round and should give it abit more poke.. I use it in myEC300, runs sweet.

Baz, i only use BP 98 Ron stuff in my EC300 as it apparently has the least additives of the main producers. Then i use Shell Optimax 95 in my KTM 450. Never had any fuel issues of cleanliness issues with either.
