Question Where can I buy Maxxis "Trial-maxx" (KTM Freeride) tires in the USA?

While checking out the KTM Freeride 250/350, something caught my eye. The rear tire looks like a trials tire, but slightly different. This Maxxis Trial-maxx M7320 http://www.maxxis.de/cms_en/index.ph...torcycle-tires addressed 2 of my wishes for a trail riding tire (currently running MT43 on my GasGas 300) 1: tread wraps around the sidewalls and goes nearly to the rim 2: tread voids are ever so slightly larger. The only other thing on my wish list (that this tire did not accomplish) was to be 4.5" wide, but 2 out of 3 ain't bad!

Upon further research I found that these tires were made specifically for the Freeride's and I cannot seem to find anywhere in the USA that can get them. I have found them available in the UK, but by the time I have one shipped, the price becomes not so attractive (almost doubles in price to $200+.) Does anyone know of a US source for these?

why don't you try the Goldentyre

I made a tyre like this by myself by cutting every second knob and I like it.

That GT256 does look to have similar characteristics, just slightly more aggressive still. Thanks for the links. Again, I'm having trouble finding them in the USA, my google-fu is getting weak!

I had considered taking the knife to my MT43 to see how it works... but that sounds like a lot of work especially considering it has less than 1/2 tread left.

Been there and done that with the MT-43. Cutting a larger gap and having a crisp face does give the tire some added mud clearing and fresh bite but IMHO not worth the effort and once you remove some width from a well used MT-43 you can expect to see lugs failing soon after.
I have a friend that jumped thru hoops to bring a freeride stateside, I got a short ride on it this past weekend.....
One look at the rear tire and I wanted one.
If you find them being imported stateside please post up.

Still unobtanium, but this prototype Kenda sure would fit the bill: http://www.innovationoffroad.com/201...ChAzQ.facebook

Default Freeride tire

For what It's worth,while I was @ round 7 hanging around the vee-rubber truck
a fellow with a thick euro accent starts a conversation w/ my buddie & me
This fellow states he works w/ Maxis. And asks our opinion of such and such trials tire. Long story short he say's the Trial-maxx tire will be here soon.

Looks like Motoz finally ticked all the boxes on my tire wish list: http://www.dualsportarmory.com/motoz...ire-120-80-18/

I'll be ordering 2 for the DS bikes soon and they should be available in December.

I might just have to jump on the trials bandwagon after all when my new knobby is done. This looks like it's worth a try for the majority of conditions I ride in.
