Squish
So I've been thinking about getting some head work done. Maybe it would clean up the little rich stumble up to 1/4 throttle. How do it measure squish, but most importantly, is there anyone on here that does quality work? How much would it cost?

What have you done already to help get rid of the stumble/richness? It doesn't need head work to clean that up, it's going to be something else.

Funny you say that. I spent most of the night last night trying different things. I stuck a genuine keihin 40 pilot, apparently the one i had tried to use was a knock off. Longer threads, bottom of jet was a little different looking. I had no luck with the 45. ( i have a 38,40,42,45,50 somewhere)) and went from a 180 to a 178 main ( i have 168, 170,172,175,178,180 mains). Stock needle on the leanest setting. #7 slide. 200ish feet above sea level, 45 degrees. It ran the best yet. No hesitation. No weird lean mixture sounds. It smoked when warming up, but it all went away when it was warmed up. I found that kind of alarming. I am running semi synthetic smokeless/ashless oil. Low flash point. Around 175 degrees. I was think of putting the clip back on the 3rd position. Maybe put the 180 main back in, put the 40 pilot seems nice. Maybe try a 42. I took it for a 10 min balls to the walls ride and nothing changed. Although when i stopped coolant started leaking out the coolant tank. I accidently melted it with a torch. I guess i could read my plug and get a questimation? I don't want to run to lean. The power is night and day difference though and so is the idle.... Here's a video. It's early in the morning but you get the idea. It was hard to see. https://youtu.be/Z9NdNtlmMOY

I'm glad your making headway! Playing with jetting and carb settings can make such a difference on a stock engine.
