Default 2011 EC300 question

Hi all

I am really confused with the options for the 2011 EC300 - seems that it can be E-start / Non E-start, Racing or regular, or six days??? And on top of that, the suspension can differ among the sub models depending on the location?

I am looking at a 2011 EC300 (NON E START) - not sure if it is racing but I don't think it is - not sure how to tell - also unsure how to tell what fork it has. The shock is a dead giveaway (Ohlins).

Thanks!

It varies from country to country.

If it is a 2011 Racing it'll have the Ohlins shock but will have the new linkage and the lower shock clevis will be a single eyelet. It should have the 48mm Marzocchi PFP forks. Have a search and look at the cap layout; very easy to identify.

Otherwise it's probably just a 2011 kick start with Ohlins 888 shock and 48mm Sachs forks (although could be 45mm OC Zokes too). Some photos of forks will help identify.

generally the sachs were red and the zokes black uppers. can also measure the fork stanchions to see if they are 45mm or 48mm

A few photos - not the best but you get the picture (no pun intendeD)

Another question that is confusing me (between different 2011 300 models...)

Did all the models come stock with a digital speedo / computer? Did they all come with the choke?

That is the standard non race version. I believe they all had the trip computer thing and choke cable. Looks like a nice bike. Good luck!

They look like o/c 45 marzocchis. Take some pics of the fork caps

Bike looks clean though

45mm Marzocchi are open chamber. Measure the lower leg OD at 45mm.
Sachs open chambers are 48mm in the lower leg. Can have black or red uppers, and anodized lowers generally. Few different cap designs with some having adjustable spring preload built in.
48mm Marzocchis are closed chamber with adjustable preload on the IC from the cap.

From your pics they appears to be one of the open chamber forks, and from what I can see of the cap I think I'd be leaning towards them being 45mm zokes.

Here is a little thread with pics and info on the Sachs.

The bike is a 2011 non e-start EC. Looks nice and clean and would be a good buy at the right price.

Yea I am buying it no doubt - $4k with about 6 hours on it.

I asked someone else, but just to confirm do these come with an odometer or trail computer?
