I agree re the feelings towards the kick starters. I like mine and don't feel the need for the button. It would be a convenience, but I'd still prefer to have the manual backup. Someone might be onto something re the injection requiring more cranking duration/consistancy.

In regards to the ktm,berg,gas gas starters.. they are nothing more than an after thought with a poor design. Beta and Sherco have included the starter into the engine, as many other 4T's have, and also cars, which means much more consistant engagement. The thing is, with all the above, flat batteries and electrical issues can still happen. It may just become a case of battery maintenance being added to the list. Maybe a new one every year?
