Default Let's Delete!

Here a while back I was chastised for hoggin' the classifieds with my individual listings for used parts that I was trying to find homes for. The vocal crowd, including the forum's webmaster, expressed their displeasure and suggested one post is all I should need for a part-out. Their reasoning seemed to be that nobody else's ads could be found with all of my individual ads.
I would like to suggest that the bigger problem is this; the classifieds are plugged up with ads for items that have already been sold.
If it says "Sold" in the title, why can't the moderators or webmaster delete it?

Deleting FS posts erases the history of what the market rate & availability of items are. Move them into a searchable archive, sure, but don't delete them.

Also this forum is nowhere near active enough to complain about any of these issues. But that's just like, my opinion, man.

I too use the previous posts for guidance on part prices & availablility so my preference would be to keep them.

I don't get it, I guess. Used parts are whatever you can get out of them and they're available until they're gone!

I kinda agree with mcnut. The classifieds are sorta hard to sort through. Plus I think quite a few are sold but don't say so in the title. This is also kind of a time waster.

I mean, don't get me wrong, I REALLY appreciate having the classifieds and have purchased quite a few items for a great price.

I personally prefer to comparison shop before I buy as well as do research to find the "going market rate" to set my selling prices. It helps me maximize my profits and saves me time.

Perhaps the forum activity is partially stifled by stagnant, dead classified ads?

I do prefer if is sold is gone.

The market place is what you can afford and how bad you need it. After that is something call negotiations.

Availability? If is sold is gone.not available any more.

But who knows. If you want to keep sold one put it on a different file.
