Broken rear fender support repair ideas.

Broke the fender support clean in half right behind the subframe. Not happy with the price of a new one, or the fact that this is likely going to happen again being the nature of the sport.

I wanted to see what you crafty blokes had for ideas to fix the old one. I'd love to leave it off, but I need that rear light to be legal.

My initial idea is to run a couple bars of aluminum between the two parts to keep enough rigidity, but let it bend away when needed. I understand I'll need a tugger strap to lift the bike now, and that's fine.

I took some 1/8"x3/4" flat bar and made a plate/light mount for a XR400 bench vice and 18" crescent wrench 20 minuets and a few beers . Mine would bend not break
