Default All hell's broken loose in the trials world..

There's a new kid on the block, their name's Xispa. They have just released pics of the new trials iron, pics here: http://www.trialscentral.com/user_ph...a_bike_launch/ (thanks Andy Greig of TC). Compare that to this: http://www.sherco.com/trials_2t.html

Make no mistake this will have a profound effect on Gas Gas. Gasser are now in the middle of a very nasty war that will probably result in at least one manufacturer going to the wall.

The price. It's anticipated to be 2/3 that of a Sherco or Gasser. The feeling in the trials world is that the market cannot bear another vendor. The price was presumably kept so low because it's a straight rip-off of the Sherco and hence didn't need the expensive development work that Gas Gas & Sherco pour into their products (well Gas Gas at least but that's another story, pm me if you want details, I can't put those details on a public board).

We live in interesting times.

If he was so anal about it he could set the code so it can't be linked.

Wait 'til the Chinese start making trials bikes.....

I guess everyone's entitled to their better "mouse trap".

Well that's what everybody's thinking, that it's Chinese.

Just think what the knock on effects might be.

I think the market here in the u.s. has the riders wanting "the best" not "the cheapest". And riders who went 4 stroke are now favoring the lighter "pro" models. I haven't seen a quality motorcycle come out of china yet - but it will probably happen over time. A few glossy photos and a low price doesn't equate to a "profound effect on gasgas" - seems like quite a leap to me...

Apparently Ryan Young (RYP) is so pi$$ed at Xispa he bounced them (Xispa also make kids bikes and Ryan Young imports Shercos.)
