Rings
Vertex rings ,are the gaps supposed to be staggered and put on the exhaust side of the cylinder and the piston arrow facing ex. pipe manafold?Anything else would help,it's been 20+ years.

Arrow goes to exhaust, ring locating pins in piston will take care of the rest

Steve,
As widebear says arrow to exhaust. The ring pins in the piston are towards the rear so the ends of the rings run up and down in solid bore with no ports for them to flick open into. They will be staggered - at least they were on mine. Be careful not to get the ring on top of the locating pin, easy to do when fighting to get the cylinder on and it is possible to get the end caught up and the piston in the bore on some pistons. |
