Default my first gas gas wont start?

Hi all,
I am new to gas gas bikes and I have a problem with my 2001 TXT280.
Whilst riding along the beach in top gear I had a sudden loss of power but it took me home, now it does not start? I cleaned the carb and air filter but still no joy. Compression seems fine. Has anyone had the same issue or know what my problem is???? cheers.

No offense, but...

You got fuel in it? Fuel getting into the carb?

You got spark?

Carb have a good seal at the head?

Thanks FR,
The plug is wet, it fired once but I have noticed some minor cracking to the rubber boot front of carb but does not seem to be cracked right through??

Providing you have spark, my kid burnt his rings on a hi-speed ride and the bike just died. Compression while kicking still felt good. Too much blow-by past the rings to allow the 2t to fire over. Pull the head and check inside.

Loss of power sound like partial seize . Could be due
To petrol starve due to kinked line. Which is easy on these. When I first got my 2000 TXT it took me a while to work out the choke wasn't going on on crazy dellorto carb. There is a GG trial forum to try.

thanks all, I have checked all the basics, ie fuel and spark. The next task is to take a look at the piston and rings.

Check your reeds. Change that boot, it's not worth the chance at sucking something in.
