First thing just go over it. Check all your bearings. Change all fluids. Service the suspension or have it serviced if you don't know how.

Then ride the crap out of it.

Was it a used 2015 or left over inventory on a dealer floor?

Echo the comments about the bearings, make sure you have good grease in your linkage & swing arm, steering head, etc.

Unless it's been ridden hard already, you probably don't need to have the suspension serviced (not trying to start an argument with Matt). That said, if you want it tuned to your skills & terrain, a re-valve might be in order. Personally, I'd mess with the clickers first and get an idea of how she feels before throwing down for a re-valve.

From a bike protection and riding standpoint, there are a few must-haves before hitting the trail (IMO):
  • good jetting
  • bark busters
  • radiator guards/braces
  • skid plate
  • chain/sprockets in good order
  • good tires
  • riding gear

Don't need to have all this sorted for the very first ride, but that's a start.

Welcome Dj,
As above check these out. The suspension needs to be broken in before anything, if not already. So is your bike new or new to you? Also if you don't mind saying which continent you reside in/on. Maybe seal up the airbox seams w/ silicone ? Charge the battery.

Yes 2 things.

1) AJP clutch MC/lever is junk and a known recall issue. There were only replaced under 30 day warranty if the customer brought it to the dealer attention. If you bike still has the AJP, it will fail...not if but when. There is a Magura direct replacement, make sure you get the one that uses mineral oil

2) My Thermostat housing failed after about 6-8 months. It cracked and never sealed right and would leak. I removed it completely and put in a PVC bypass tube. A one piece hose would also work.

New or used?? Will make a little difference.. but not much really.

Here is the thread I put together regarding my 2013 setup. Obviously not all is required, but regardless its not a bad thing to add whatever protective gear you feel is necessary (personal preferences at play), check the the carb and jetting specs, check the main bearings for grease and play (lube in the right places will extend life and make the bike easier to work on when due for maintenance later). I'd ride it for a while before worrying about suspension - it gives you a baseline to work from.

Congrats on the new bike!
It will require the same TLC any new bike does. As mentioned give the suspension ample break in time, start with following the settings in the manual. You should set the carb float level and you can find a better needle to improve jetting. Your clutch master cylinder might let you down (mine did).
Other than that it's good to go.

You'll be happy with your 15. The list of fix it items is far less than I ran into with other brands.

Keep a close eye on stand bolt (if fitted),kickstart bolt, and throw the rubber duckbill drain on air box away or open it up with a craft knife.enjoy
