Default need:Starter Clutch Bendix 2013 EC300

Do you happen to have a Bendix starter clutch for a 2013 EC300? If so I am in the market. I tried to use a Honda (chinese) one but the stock gearing was no good. Please advise. Thank you

I just put a SMU5009 in my 13 with a little modification as listed in the post mentioned above. Also Matto Cycle is looking to modify the SMU5009 so it will be a direct replacement with no modifications needed. Not sure how far along he is as we just spoke about it last week.

Default What are we doing wrong?

We just installed a new 5009 Bendix with the mods you so very kindly provided. However we can't seem to get it to turn the flywheel. There seems to be ample clearence and the starter works great but the bendix is not engaging the flywheel. Do you happen to have any suggestions? Everything else seems to work just fine. I look forward to any tips you may have.

There are three different gaskets for the stator cover. Depending on where the fly wheel is position on the crank. Right now I have a thicker gasket installed as the bendix was binding on the ring gear I also had to shim out the top of the starter to get everything lined up. You may want to try pulling the fly wheel and reinstalling and see what happens then.

Default Different Gaskets

I tried different gasket thicknesses, but something my riding partner reminded me of was that when we tried to run the bendix without the flywheel cover on with the starter motor we could not get the bendix drive to drop down into position to drive the flywheel. Is this caused by the sping on the bend being too tight? Should I stretch it out a bit. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thank you!
