TM Designworks Chain Guide?

I purchased one direct from TM's web site.

The guide works great but eats master link clips. Use with press fit master links.

Tm's customer service was terrible. They screwed my order up, didn't ship all the parts and wouldn't make good on any of it. I paid for overnight air so I would have it for a race but ended up with a useless piece of plastic and a sticker. I told them at the time I would never recommend a product that doesn't have a company behind it.

If you must buy one get it from your local dealer, at least they will stand behind the sale.

Try to find an LTR guide bracket that uses the Honda XR plastic guide. Has worked perfect for years on my bikes.

I just mounted a TM to mine. Had the LTR setup for years and liked it a lot. Have worn out a couple of stockers, but they worked fine. Bent one in the rocks, but laying the bike on it's side and using a big stick to bend it back fixed it for the day.

I plan to replace the chain and not use a master link. I discovered the endless chain a few years back when working on a buddy's XR 650. I thought it was brilliant, and have done it every time I have changed a chain since then. If you have a chain tool, it's easier than a master link, and there's no clip to fail.

Your 100% right, I have never mastered the master link clip but the $80 press tool lasts a life time and is very easy to use. I ended up running a clip when my new chain came with out a rivet style master link and I needed it to ride with in an hour. After the ride the clip was worn very thin (about 150 miles.) I'm very surprised it didn't fail completely.

Just to be clear on something that bothers me. I very rarely call out a manufacture, especially in an internet setting that's not face to face. I also know the number of manufactures that support gassers is small and we need all of them. I think TM makes a good product, but I also feel they screwed me over. Mistakes happen, what matters is how you react after the mistake. This is where they failed big time.

what year XR 650 chain guide do i need. the TM chain guide sucks

Just ordered one of these,anyone else used them?
worked out a fair bit cheaper too.
