Default back on a GG

Sold my 06 300EC about a year ago and been riding a CRF250X (which is a great bike btw, just a little too heavy). Looked at several 2012 and 2013 GG's but just couldn't do it. Kept saying if I found a super clean 2011 I would go back to GG. Well, one came along- 2011 250EC sixdays with 263 miles on it. Re-sprung for a 200 lb'er such as myself. Several of my coolaid drinking 2 stroke riding friends can now sleep at night, my running the Honda was killing them whereas the GG is just a minor divergence in their book.

Default crf250x weight

I have a crf250x and have had a 96 kdx 200 and a ktm exc.300. Just by feel, the 250x and the kdx feel similar in weight, as far as picking them up off the ground. Which I do quite a bit. The ktm felt lighter, as far as picking it up but i would rather ride the crf any day. I never thought i would like a four stroke, this is my first modern four stroke. This bike is great except for the maintenance. I'm still going to get a gasgas one day hence my trolling this forum.

It is the same one, I'll get some pics some time. rode the bike about 30 min yesterday, thought it would be a kitten compared to the old 300 but not so, its got some serious hit, power to spare.

Already ordered up some used IMS pegs and some different handle bars off ebay, planning on the YZ250 kicker also. Nice to go into a "new" bike with a head start on the set up. The original owner had a KTM before this GG and he put "KTM" branded black and orange grips on it, I will not post a picture until after that orange is off the bike!

Took it racing on sunday, 4th in Sen B class at a local HS race, tight trail so it was good for the GG. Put on YZ250 kicker and some IMS pegs last night. Put the original twin wall bars back on cause did not care for the set that was on it. These twin walls are the hardest bars I have ever set out to put full wrap handguards on. Had to get creative, its going to work out and be clean but just taking some time. I'm gonna see it through on these bars but if you have the option and want to run full handguards don't get these twin wall bars, renthal obviously never considered someone would put handguards on these things. I was surprised to see 2 other GG's at the race, both 2014 300's. One was a riding/racing dealership owner. He said their gonna have some cool bikes in 2015, those new 4 strokes and that 125 from the Husky deal.
