EC200 horn

Can anyone shed some light on what the little black box is, the horn is connected to on the wiring harness? I've attached my re-draw of the existing schematic, with the horn at the bottom centre.

It's an ac to dc rectifer. It allows the use of a dc horn on an ac electrical system.

Aah, so could I in theory use any rectifier?
Half of the electrics on the bike I have are missing, so I'm replacing what I can.

"Any" as long as it's water proof and can carry the current.

Some vendors offer ac horns. (there's one near the bottom of this linked page)

Converting the entire system to dc is another option.
