Default spare expansion chamber modding!

hey guys just thought id share my chop up of my street pipe that came with my bike, i chopped it up today and ripped out the catalyst inside and am going to have a buddy re weld it for me and also cut off the extra air pipe coming off and seal it up. ill post a pic tomorrow of what it looks like back together and then a report on what the power is like compared to the pipe on the bike! the filter is friggin heavy, id say around half a pound.

Looking at it I'm not surprised it kills a 2 stroke!

I have cut one of these up and use it in events I think I might trash a chamber. It does not feel like the power is any different from the silver pipe and it looks like it has the same dimensions.

I can't see how it even functions as an expansion chamber with the cat taking up all the space.

My guess is that the bike would stop running once enough spooge clogged it up.

The catalyst traps heat, which burns off the spooge.

I had one on my 200 when I got it. Didn't know it was a cat and was wondering why the bike was so slow. Then I twigged, put the other pipe on and the power doubled! Dunno why it had a cat pipe on it, it's a 2003!

Looking forward to hearing about it after its back together. Thanks for posting the pic marking the spot you cut it. I need a pipe right now and could use this, or just keep it as a spare.

Don't always trust that mark my cat was a lot further up, tap your pipe first to find it.
