Default Carbon fiber pipe guard pros and cons?

What does everyone think of the carbon fiber pipe guards for the 2 stroke bikes? I'm thinking of adding one to my 250. Pros & cons? Do they rattle or hold mud against the pipe? Thanks in advance!
Noah

My limited experience is...You prevent small dents, but bend the pipe. I've opted for occasional small dents, with a mostly intact pipe. I manage to bend armored pipes. I can live with small dents...'till they need repair. I could also stop clubbing logs & rocks with the pipe...

My carbon fiber guard has done its job. No rattle, but the thing I don't like is that they hold water and will rust the pipe if you don't take it off every time you wash the bike...sort of a pita

Cool pipe guard

I took and ran high temperature silicone beads around inside the guard then clamped it on then run a finishing bead all around the outside edge. Mo
Mine finished off real nice been using it like that for ten years now.

Bet you felt that one!!

Looks like it will pop out quite easily though. Did it twist any of the mounts or just an evil pointy rock?

I don't use them for the exact same reason as StuJohnson.

NO
This is a good example of what happens when you let your buddy ride your bike and he takes off flying like a bat out of hell on a loose gravel road and them comes to a corner and loses control of the bike.......
Lesson learned for me....
