How could the PV be adjusted incorrectly? Had my 10' 300 apart last year and I don't remember detecting that I could adjust the PV?

Piston and ring should be fine then you'd think? I missed the bit about the low hours.

The power valve assembly can have some play in it. They're very easy to check and adjust, there's a couple of good tech articles on here inc. videos.

If they're not adjusted right you can get a bit of a flat spot down low. I did on my 200 anyway.

Yes a 12 tooth cs will wear a tad bit faster but the wear difference is little enough to be a non-factor. Chain slider will wear a lot faster (with a 12 cs) if you run a loose chain.
12/50 gearing = 72mph top speed on a stock 12 200
Good overall gearing for tighter trail up from stock gearing of 12/48
If you don't need the top speed you could add a few more teeth.

PV inspection/adjustment: http://gasgasrider.org/forum/showpos...4&postcount=95

Its more of, does it have the proper tension/preload.

Wow, I missed that Thread before! I had a copy of the first photo (cylinder) but not instructions to go with it. What a great piece of info

Thanks!

If I remember correctly at some point GasGas went to a different pipe (different from the 250 &300) for the 200. Seems like it had a longer head pipe to raise bottom end power in the same way an oversize power valve cover does.

At some point over the last few days and many threads I read the same. I think I remember 02' +- being the cut off.

So, my question is:

Could I just add a spacer in between the pipe and flange to replicate a longer head pipe?
