Stuck Seat Bolt

So when I first got the bike the seat bolt had vibrated out my first two rides. Now I guess I must have over tightened it because its stuck in there now. It just keeps spinning when I try to remove it. Anyone know how to get it out? I need to clean my air filter and install a new tail light.

Does not sound good...
On the 2012's there is a nut that was cast in the plastic seat base. My guess is that when you tightened it you over tightened it and now that nut is just spinning inside the plastic seat base.
Now the fun begins to actually get the bolt out.........

Like Stu said sounds like you he-manned it when you tightened it and possibly stripped it. Could you drill it out and install one of these kits from Gofasters? I've never seen a 2012 so I don't know.

Drill the head off, remove the seat, and do the top bolt mod. I found a nice M6 thumb nut (knob) for a god no tools seat.

Got it! Thanks for the tips guys! I'm going to put together a through bolt setup tomorrow using some washers and stuff. Still love this bike it's a damn hoot.

Need to do this to mine asap! Pulled the carb to check jetting and it was missing a float screw! Ha Ha darn 300 guess I have to learn to tighten EVERYTHING!
