2012 ec300r powervalve

Hi all gassers,
I'm hoping someone is able to assist me in the removal and cleaning of my ec300r powervalve. I have been following the directions in the technical articles section on the forum to remove my powervalve and give it a clean. One thing to note so far is the top rod holding the valve in was really hard to get out. After finally getting it out I am having problems removing the valve through the exhaust outlet. I have removed the exhaust spigot but I just cant get the powervalve to pull through. I have tried applying heat to the exhaust outlet but still have not been able to pull it out.
Does anyone have any suggestions??

Piston to bdc, and then turn the PV flapper sideways.

Thanks Jakobi, the flapper looked pretty good so I just put it all back together after cleaning the rest. Thanks for your reply. It will be good to know next time.
